Navisworks is the developer of vr plant visualization applications. Their main application is Jetstream for engineering vr visualization. The basic philosophy is to develop one main product with a bunch of plug-ins. On their website they brag 7 plug-ins for Jetstream. I have summarized the descriptions from the website and highlight significant verbiage:)
- Roamer- VR walkthrough
- Publisher- Publishes 3D CAD and laser scan to .nwd
- Freedom- Free .nwd viewing software. Get it: http://www.navisworks.com/en/jetstream/overview/freedom/form
- Presenter - Creates images and animations NB?: I can't tell if this also modifies the as built???
- Clash Detective - Reports interferences in a 3D project model --i.e. steal beam running through stairs :(
- TimeLiner - Links 3D model data to project schedules.
- RVM Reader- Read .rvm and associated .rvs files created by AVEVA Plant Design Management System.
I would like to hear from users or Navis people on the presenter (see NB?).
The demos and simple website are a very very good touch for the busy eng that doesn't want to filter through a website that looks like a chemical plant.
The application is a quick and dirty vr viewer for project applications.
Your comments appreciated. Navis people feel free.

'presenter' can add or edit textures and materials (and lights and shadows) from the original (compatibility depends on the originating CAD product, though) Apart from that, the product is a for design review and not for modelling in any way
Hi Petrov,
I am glad you bring that up. I have not seen any vr product yet that really provides design capability. There are some hybrid visualization products that I am researching for future blogs that allow users to update designs and/or use the virtual plant as the as built.
